Centre Philosophy
At Riverglade Childcare we respect children and respect the process for children to develop at their own space while surrounded by their peers of similar age. We offer an environment that caters to their needs by offering three separate rooms, where we at times can enjoy the benefits of ako and tuakana-teina by coming together as one.
We aim to support and encourage the tamariki to engage in whanaungatanga on a daily basis; with the foundation being kindness, relationship building, contribution and communication.
We endeavour to support our tamariki to learn how to build relationships and work together with their fellow peers, whanau and kaiako to create an environment that is consistent, constructive, challenging and stimulating.
We wish to create an environment that nurtures manaakitanga where the tamariki are able to learn how to care, respect and have empathy for others as well as nurture our environment.
We want the children, staff and our whanau at Riverglade to feel valued and supported, to freely express themselves, to have pride and confidence in everything they do while being respectful of each other, the resources and our learning environment in their time here.
We encourage teachers to continually expand their learning, to remember that they too are LIFE-LONG LEARNERS, and that they need to grow and develop their knowledge to better suit the needs of our tamaraki.
